Monsters

Fun fact: putting monster finger puppets on your pens while studying makes studying 535% more fun and worthwhile!

Studying has been a bit on the dreary side. It can be interesting, but I feel like I’m behind with this class since I missed the entire first week due to illness. Oh well, that just makes it more of a challenge, right? 🤓

Smokey has been extra happy here lately. The dryer hasn’t been working, so we have makeshift clothesline’s all of the place, plus the drying rack that Mom bought. Smokey views it as multiple secret forts and mazes to run through. The other day, he was extremely grumpy because I kept getting him out of his forts and mazes to pet him. Guess he didn’t need attention that day!

In other, much sadder news, my friend and work partner for a few months passed away on the 24th. He had to quit when he found out that he had cancer that had metastasized to various organs. He served in the fire service for decades, which honestly, is either the reason he got cancer, or played a large role in it. Prayers would be appreciated for his loved ones.

I hope that all of you have had a wonderful weekend, and that this week will be filled with things you enjoy, and people you love.

Winter

It’s just a wee bit cold here! A winter mix is suppose to hit tonight. I’m at work, so I doubt Smokey is wearing his extra coat!
Warm wishes,

A January Update

Appears to have finally left me. That lasted a lot longer than I expected. Or wanted! I haven't done any stitching while ill. I mostly slept, ran to the bathroom, and tried to drink enough fluids. Ah, a life well lived!

I don't have anything to report on school either. I missed the entire first week of school, and have the niggling feeling that I will feel as though I have twice as much to learn next week. Thankfully, I am able to access the powerpoints online, so that does give me some studying to do. I also found out our first lab quiz will be the 23rd. Yikes!

I've been working on making flash cards and getting some reading in (fun reading; the etextbook thing isn't working online. Just proof that real books are better!). Smokey has been helping off and on.
He loves his teddy bear Aunt Kirstie gave him!
I've also been noticing Christmas decorations that missed. I'm pretty sure that Smokey just laughs at me each time I notice something else.

What have all of you been up to?
  Happy Stitching!

Just a normal day

Smokey slept through most of the Aristocats movie last night. :)
Smokey is doing quite well. He behaved quite well when I weighed him last night. He was not very flattered when I serenaded him, or when I danced around the room with him to the tune of “Everybody Wants To Be A Cat.”  As far as the serenading goes, he should be used to my singling by now. And I thought he tune was a very fitting dance number for a girl and her cat. Oh well, I guess he lacks sophistication in some areas! ;)

In other news, I have been needle felting a lama off and in. All of us girls had brought a kit, plus one for Grandma S. when we visited them for our belated family Christmas. It was great fun working on our projects with Grandma. When I worked on a hoof last night, it ended up looking a lot like a little balding man. Do you see it as well?

In other news, my Batman stocking cap I wear at work will have to masquerade as Bruce Wayne. I’m pretty sure I had permission to wear it, but they’ve now decided that it “doesn’t match our uniform policy.” Most, if not all, of us women wear our own stocking caps because the ones at work are made out of this weird material that just slides right off of longer hair. As you can imagine, this creates issues when you spend more time picking your hat up off of the ground than you actually
spend caring for your patient. I’m curious to see if other people will be told they can’t wear their hats with logos or not. I’m also curious how one of the bosses said they never saw it in the three years I have worn that hat, including the times I worked them on a truck, or chatted with them while wearing it. Oh well, I guess that shall remain one of the great mysteries of life!

How are all of you doing? Am I the only slacker that hasn’t found the will to drag containers brimming with normal decor, and later on, Christmas decorations up and down the stairs yet?

I hope you have a wonderful day!
Happy stitching!
