Holy Cow!

I can't believe its been almost a week since I last blogged!!!!! Per the norm, its been busy the past several days! I don't really remember what I did Thurs. Probably cleaning and/or running errands. Friday was spent at Silver Dollar City with my parents, a cousin, and his daughter. They had made a spur of the moment trip to our neck of the woods from Canada. His wife and son stayed home because of a school program his son is in. On that note, I'm sure the family would appreciate prayers. There was a work accident involving this cousin and now he is having to make some really big adjustments. We had a wonderful time with them. I think a couple of us almost got a bit overheated- it was mid 90s degrees F in Branson. We had thought it would be mid-80s, not 90s! It feels way too early for those temps!!!! Saturday was spent at work. Something happened then that has left me a bit frustrated. Its something I might be able to do something about, with time, but an individual's attitude is causing me some serious concern. I'll try to post more about that later. Right now, I think I had best figure out how to do what I think I need to do, if that makes any sense. Any how, we had a wonderful service at church on Sunday and had a nice relaxing time in between services. Monday was spent with Lil' Nut (my nickname for Kirstie) and a couple of good friends. We traveled to Silver Dollar City (we're bound and determined to get the most out of those passes!!!) and had fun riding a few rides with them. That park has suddenly gotten much busier, even from Friday! We couldn't stay too long because they needed to back home in time to help milk. Still, it was a wonderful day. Even if I did get wet on the Lost River with Rachael and Abigail (not their real names). And when I went with Rachael  on the American Plunge. The American Plunge is when you and some others are placed in this log shaped looking thing with a plastic bench-like thing going length-wise. The bench thing has areas cut out where you are suppose to sit. There are metal rails on each side to hold onto and areas to brace your feet.

I forgot to take a photo myself, so this one is borrowed from the internet.
The part leading up to the super steep area is peaceful. You just float along and occasionally get squirted with water in areas. Then you go up a steep incline that is almost too much like a roller coaster for my taste. When I was bracing my feet for the plunge part, my right foot slipped and my heiney did not have anywhere near as much contact with the seat as I felt it should. I may or may not have envisioned myself flying over Rachael (she was in the front) followed by the log crushing me at the bottom of the plunge. As you can surely guess, that thankfully did not happen. I was able to kind of dig my knees into Rachael's sides while maintaining my death grip on the rails.. This was sufficient enough to prevent that catastrophe! Oh, the things that happen when I get peculiarly brave and don't stick with my bookworm-ish ways!
Today started off with my truck being on its way to Not So Great Big City Hospital. Which put me a bit behind on getting stuff finished this morning. Also, the off going supervisor had someone come in early for him, so I had no access to the key that opens the box for QAing. I could have gone ahead and QAed and pulled the face sheets later, but there have been some names misspelled on reports lately, so I've been trying to double check. We ended up flying out a gentleman at 10 something. He had been doing some hard work on the road when he started having substernal chest pain that radiated to his L side chest and L arm. His left arm hurt so bad, he was supporting it with his R arm and guarding it. He was cool, pale, and diaphoretic (sweating like crazy!). Once we was finally able to get the monitor electrodes to stick, the 12 lead showed that he was having an MI (myocardial infarction- heart attack). The helicopter had gone en route when we had, so we flew to one of the Big Town Hospitals from a nearby field. The aspirin and nitro given while in my care helped a little bit at least!
Our next call didn't come until roughly 3:45. An elderly lady from the dementia unit at a horrid local nursing home was being sent out for "abnormal behavior and violence towards staff." Cause,  you know, abnormal behavior is not a part of dementia! 🙄 The staff advised that she had been hitting people and making highly inappropriate sexual remarks, etc. She was fixated on Minion when we first met her. Not gonna lie- I definitely felt that it was better him than me! (In my defense, he would have out right laughed had it been me. Like he did when that one pt started asking me out). She did fine for us... for the most part. I got to drive to the hospital since it was a stable psych call. She told Minion that she slapped an old guy (a fellow inmate- umm I mean patient) that  tried to kiss her. She did want to kiss people that she felt was sweet on the cheek at the facility and hospital. And Minion. He did tell me that when he attempted to get VS (vital signs), she tried to kiss him and reached for his crotch. He wasn't sure if the reaching was intentional or not, but he sat behind the cot just in case!
On the stitching front, I've made some progress. I need things to chill so I can knock this project out!

Here's the only 2 photos from Silver Dollar City w/o people in them, lol :

Well, it is late, so I had best go. This was suppose to be finished, but a couple of folks I enjoy visiting with stopped by to visit and to fill out a form to start riding again! Plus, one of them helped me pick on Minion, so I couldn't afford to miss that opportunity!
 Happy Stitching!
